OUR STORY
Nestled in the mountains of West Virginia, our family-owned farm is a quiet escape rooted in beauty, simplicity, and care. Inspired by our travels through the European countryside and shaped by our creative backgrounds, we’ve built a place where artistry meets the land.
The story of Windfall began in 2006, when the Brown family purchased forty two acres that would one day become our farm. What started as a humble family retreat in the peaceful hills of West Virginia has now transformed into a thriving landscape of lavender and life.
Over time, our family’s love of travel, especially our fondness for the chateaux and countryside gardens of Europe, sparked a vision to cultivate that same sense of serenity and timeless beauty here at home. Today, Windfall stands as the realization of that dream. Every sprig of lavender and handcrafted product tells a piece of our story, a story rooted in family, creativity, and the enduring beauty of the land.

Rita Brown
Before discovering lavender farming, Rita spent over a decade in the aerospace industry, developing her expertise in business operations and community engagement. As her interest in wellness deepened, so did her connection to the land and the amazing health and wellness benefits of lavender.
Today, she brings that same focus and care to everything from planting and product development to customer experience. For Rita, lavender is more than a beautiful flower, it’s a way to slow down, reconnect, and create something meaningful, both for the earth and the people it supports.
